	Notice: On December 17, 2010 Congress passed legislation changing the estate tax exemption level, the estate tax rate and portability of the unused portion of the estate tax exemption to the surviving spouse. I like helping people. That is why I’m a lawyer. I went back to law school after a successful engineering and business career because I wanted to help defend the most defenseless of our citizens, i.e. the unborn and the elderly. I have done a lot of this type of law work on a pro bono basis and will continue to do so, but I also practice in many other areas.

One of the major focuses of my practice is estate planning. That is a shorthand way of saying planning for what happens to your children, your spouse, your home and your money when you pass away or when you are incapacitated. If you don’t decide what you want done the government will decide for you! (Not a good idea!) I can help you make this an easy and enjoyable process.

Because of my business and entrepreneurial background I have been asked to help many clients with issues in their businesses. I have helped start new businesses, form LLCs and corporations, obtain trademarks, write contracts, negotiate agreements and sell businesses. Many of my clients are small business owners that don’t have a legal department. I act as their legal advisor.

Most lawyers (and doctors) expect their clients to come to their office, spend time sitting in the waiting room and then get ushered into their office for a short, intimidating and expensive visit. You can come to my office if you wish but often it is more convenient and efficient for me to come to your office or home or for us to meet at the local Starbucks. Your time is just as valuable as mine and I want to respect that.

I’m married to my wife Dee. We have three married daughters and six grandchildren. Yes, that is us in the banner photo across the top of the page!
